Fresh Lemonade

minutesFresh squeezed lemonade is good any time of year. Can add fresh fruit if desired.
Ingredients
- Lemonade concentrate
1 1/2 c sugar
1 1/2 c water
1 1/2 c fresh squeezed lemon juice (about 8 large lemons)
zest from 2 lemons
- Lemonade
1 cup lemonade concentrate
3 c ice cold water
Directions
- Make lemonade concentrate
- Cool simple syrup
- Mix sugar and water in a sauce pan.
- Bring to a boil until all the sugar is dissolved.
*This called a simple syrup* - Add lemon juice and lemon zest and stir
- If you want to store it for later use, you can put it in a quart jar with a lid and refrigerate until ready to use.
- To Make Lemonade
- Mix the lemonade concentrate with the ice water and stir.
- Add crushed berries or flavoring if desired.
Notes
- You will need a lot of lemons to make 1 1/2 cups of fresh squeezed lemon juice. I usually buy 1 or 2 bags of lemons for this.
